On the Mat: Tahoma Gold Wrestles to Success at Curtis High

In a thrilling conclusion to their season, the Tahoma Gold team made a strong showing at the Berserker tournament at Curtis High School. Competing among several Varsity teams, they achieved an impressive 4th place finish. This tournament highlighted their skills and determination, with five of our wrestlers advancing to the finals, each showcasing their dedication and resilience. Tahoma also led the tournament in number of parents asked to get back behind the blue line.

In the 106 pound weight class, Osisis Bell displayed remarkable tenacity, finishing with a 2-2 record and contributing 4.0 points to the team. His journey included a notable victory by fall in a mere 46 seconds against Alexander Erfort.

Logan Wray, also competing in the 106 pound weight class, showed great skill and strategy, ending with an admirable record. His journey included a major decision victory but concluded in the consolation semi-finals, adding depth to our team's overall performance.

Jackson Stoops, competing in the 113 pound weight class, was a standout, securing 2nd place with an impressive 18.0 team points. His path to the finals was marked by decisive victories, including a hard-fought decision win in the semi-finals, showcasing his strength.

Eben Nau, in the 120 pound weight class, clinched 3rd place with a strong 17.0 team points. His path was marked by a mix of falls and decisions, including a great win where he came back to beat the wrestler who beat him earlier in the tournament in the 3rd place match.

In the 126 pound weight class, Jase Macatangay rose impressively to the occasion, securing 3rd place and adding a vital 20.0 points to our score. His journey to the podium featured several impressive falls, demonstrating his powerful wrestling skills.

Paul Tarantino, competing in the 132 pound weight class, made a significant impact by finishing 2nd and contributing a substantial 22.0 points. His journey to the finals was characterized by determination and wins against tough opponents.

Thayden Lindstom, representing the 138 pound weight class, also finished 2nd, earning 20.0 points. His matches were a testament to his skill and determination, culminating in a closely contested final.

Andrew Feist made his way to the finals for his second tournament in a row earning 2nd place.

From Judah Sotelo in the 144 Boys to Trey Monaghan in the 285 Boys, each wrestler faced unique challenges and triumphs. Their performances are a testament to their dedication, skill, and the spirit of Tahoma Gold.
