Tahoma Wrestling Team Excels at Tri-State Tournament
At the recent Tri-State Wrestling tournament, held at North Idaho College, the Tahoma Wrestling Team, the Bears, showcased exceptional talent and determination.
Highlighting the team's success, Crew Lambro secured 1st place in the 106-pound class, maintaining an undefeated streak. Lambro's notable matches included a decisive victory over Jesse Villegas of Post Falls, along with a skillful win against Tanner Crosby, culminating in a strategic triumph over Bragen Anderson in the final.

In the 145-pound category, Joe Sullivan displayed remarkable prowess, advancing to the finals with notable wins, including a dominant performance against Colton Tucker and Fargo All-American Carlos Valdez of Bishop Murphy. Sullivan's efforts earned him a commendable 2nd place.
Freshman Owen Marshall, competing in the 120-pound division, demonstrated his outstanding potential. His journey to the final was marked by impressive victories, such as a technical fall over Jaren Knopp and a solid win against Jesus Campos. He also knocked off a returning state champion and Tri-State finalist Tanner Grooms. He lost is the ultimate tie breaker resulting in a close 2nd place finish.
Other Bears also shone in their individual matches. Carter Tughan in the 113-pound class clinched 8th place, taking out state finalist Isaac Campos from Othello. Isac Deonigi fought valiantly in the 152-pound division, securing 5th place. His two losses were to State Champions Tre Haines and Apollo Cruz. Cyrus Comia, competing in the 160-pound category, delivered a strong performance, finishing 4th.
This was one of our highest finishes in the past few years at this tournament. The Bears will compete in the Pasco Duals this coming week and then fly to Reno for the Sierra Nevada Classic next week.
