Tahoma Wrestlers Shine in Bellevue Showdown
The Tahoma Gold wrestling team had an impressive showing at the Wolverine Scuffle in Bellevue this past Saturday, securing a strong 2nd place finish over a number of other Varsity teams entered in the tournament. The team's success was highlighted by standout performances from several wrestlers.
In the 106 weight class, Osisis Bell emerged as the champion. He started strong with a bye, followed by a quick win against Silas Ernst and continued his winning streak right through to the final, where he defeated his own teammate, Logan Wray, with a major decision of 11-2. Logan Wray also had a great day, battling his way to the final and earning a well-deserved 2nd place.
Eben Nau dominated the 120 pound weight class, sweeping through his matches with impressive skill. His final victory was a decisive fall against Raidon Howard, crowning him the champion in his weight class.
At 150, Andrew Feist was unstoppable. He won each of his matches by fall, including the final match against Nathaniel Badley, showcasing his strength and technique.
Other key performances came from Jase Macatangay in the Boy's Varsity 126 and Paul Tarantino in the Boy's Varsity 132, both securing 2nd place in their categories. They showed great skill and determination throughout their matches.
The team also saw strong efforts from Thayden Lindstom, Troy Mallon, Nolan Coghill, Christian Valencia, Harlan Day, Ethan Edwards, and Trey Monaghan. Trey Monaghan, competing in the Boy's Varsity 285, notably secured a 2nd place finish after a closely contested final.
Overall, the Tahoma Gold team's performance at the Wolverine Scuffle was a display of hard work and team spirit. Each wrestler played a crucial role in the team's success, showing that their dedication to the sport pays off. The team left Bellevue with their heads held high, proud of their achievements and ready for their next challenge. Our womens team was also competing at Bellevue and they too secured 2nd place at the tournament with 8 individual placers!
