Senior Night Spectacle: Tahoma Bears Seal the Season with Victory

In the electrifying culmination of the league season, the Tahoma Bears once again demonstrated why they are the reigning champions, delivering a decisive victory against the Decatur Gators by a score of 72-4. This win not only solidified their position at the top of the league but also marked another year in their nearly unbroken chain of league titles spanning the last 15 years.

Throughout the season, the Bears have shown exceptional skill, resilience, and teamwork, losing only three total league matches helping setting the stage for an exciting post-season. Last night's match was a testament to their dominance in the sport and a fitting tribute to the remarkable senior athletes who have led the team. The Bears celebrated Senior Night, honoring a group of leaders who have not only propelled the team to victory on the mat but are also poised to achieve great things beyond the sport.

The atmosphere in the gym was electric, with an enthusiastic crowd that erupted with each pin, adding to the exhilaration of the night. The matches showcased the depth of talent within the Bears' ranks, with standout performances that contributed to the overwhelming victory. Our JV also dominated winning their dual by a score of 74-6.

At 150 pounds, Joe Sullivan set the tone for the evening, overcoming Jerin Franada with a fall at 1:52, earning the Bears their first 6 points. Isac Deonigi followed suit at 157 pounds, securing a 7-0 decision over David Abramyan, extending the lead to 9-0. The momentum continued with Cyrus Comia at 165 pounds, who pinned David Veloria at 3:10, further widening the gap to 15-0.

Adriano Perez and Dylan Stover added to the Bears' tally with falls at 175 and 190 pounds, respectively, showcasing their dominance on the mat. Despite a minor setback at 215 pounds, where Nehemiah Washington claimed a major decision for the Gators over Kage Repenn, who was wrestling up a weight, the Bears' lead remained.

The match saw a series of relentless victories for the Bears, with Alex Mondt, Colby Hill, Crew Lambro, Carter Tughan, Owen Marshall, Alex Othon, and Zach Baker delivering decisive wins. Gavin Wells closed the night with a major decision at 144 pounds, sealing the the match at 72-3.

The Bears will wrestle one more dual this season on Friday night against the Vikings of Lake Stevens, in Lake Stevens at 6:00pm.
